Synagogue

The synagogue was the religious and communal centre of Tui's medieval Jewish quarter. Linked to Torah study, prayer and assembly, it also had a mikveh or ritual bath. After 1492 it ceased to function as a religious space, and its memory became embedded in later domestic architecture.
