Doctrine Children’s House

Casa de Nenos da Doutrina was built in 1556 and is among Spain's earliest school-hospices. It later housed the Revenue Administration and, in the nineteenth century, was known as Casa da Gargantada. Between 1923 and 1928 it operated as the San José school of the French Marists, with dozens of pupils.
