Chapter Prison

The Chapter Prison was built in 1611 under Bishop Fray Prudencio de Sandoval. It was intended for cathedral canons accused of serious offences, in a context of tension between bishops, the chapter and converso families. The Entrefornos prison helps explain the social and religious complexity of early modern Tui.
